Artemisa, Havana. The city of Artemisa is located in the southwest
part of Havana province. Its origin is not the current inhabiting
by neighbours. The fire happened in the capital neighbourhoods
of Jesús María and Guadalupe on April 5th, 1802
and the later move of 36 families to the area, answer to the
interest of the colonial government of creating countryside
communities with the purpose of developing agriculture.

Mariel, Havana. The municipality of Mariel is located northwest
of Havana province. It borders on the Florida Straight to the
North, with the municipality of Artemisa to the South, with
the municipality of Caimito to the East, and with the province
of Pinar del Rio to the West. Its name has an aborigine origin.
It comes from a former aborigine village which chief was named
Marién and it was located in the whole area.

Guanajay,
Havana. Havana has a very long history that goes back to the
pre-Columbian times, when in its lands settled aborigine communities
guided by the chief Marién.
In
1963 is founded Guanajay which center was located in the area
where the city is now

Caimito, Havana. This municipality is located in the North
part of the province and to the west of the capital of Cuba.
Its extension is 239.5 square Km and there are more than 30
000 inhabitants. When the Spanish first arrived, it was part
of the area ruled by the aborigine chief Marién. Many
archeological pieces found prove it, mainly alongside and
in the mouth of Banes and Salado rivers.
